For over 52 years, Melanie has created expressive works in pastel and oil, signing her paintings with her maiden name, **Melanie Miller**. She paints portraits, landscapes, sea life, and equestrian subjects, with a special passion for pet portraits.

Known for capturing both likeness and personality, Melanie blends impressionism and realism with expressive brushwork and luminous light. Her work hangs in homes, businesses, and galleries across the country and has received numerous awards and regional recognition.

Melanie founded the Piedmont Pastel Society while teaching at Queens University in Charlotte, NC, and continues to share her passion through workshops and classes.
